Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information CarValuator ("we", "us", or "our") collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to the CarValuator website, web app, and API (the "Service").

Information we collect

• Email address — used to sign you in, identify your account, and communicate with you.
• Device identifier — a random ID stored on your device to verify it and enforce device limits on paid accounts.
• Usage data — the vehicle details you look up (such as year, make, model, mileage), your saved history and profit records, and basic technical data such as your IP address and request timestamps, used to run the Service and prevent abuse.
• Payment information — payments are processed by our third-party payment provider (Stripe). We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded and the email associated with it.
• Messages you send us — chat messages, feedback, and support emails.

How we use it

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service and generate valuations.
• To verify your device, enforce account and device limits, and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To process payments and manage your access.
• To respond to your messages and provide support.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that require them to protect it:

• Payment processing (Stripe) — to take payment and confirm purchases.
• Cloud hosting and AI processing (Google Cloud) — to run the Service and generate valuations. The vehicle details you submit may be processed by these providers to return a result.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the Service.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences and history. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account information and saved records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and as required for legal, security, or accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to ask us not to sell it (we don't). To exercise these rights, email contact@carvaluator.app from the address associated with your account and we will respond as required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
